Betting strategies
|
There are different betting strategies, here only the three most famous will be discussed: The Martingale, The Progressive
Betting System 2 Level and the Progressive Betting System 5 Level
The Martingale
This very old betting system, (over 200 years old) tells the player to double the bet after a loss.
This sounds weird and useless but it's not. When you win after some you've lost a couple of times,
the winnigs of that single hand will be enough to offset the earlier losses. An example will clarify this.
The minimum bet is $5, after you loose, this system tells you to double your bet
to $10. When one wins the next hand, one has won $10 - $5 = $5. When one
looses this hand, the next bet will
be $20, if one wins that one, the score is: $20 - $10 - $ 5 = $5. And so on.
In the end, on the long run, one always wins.
This sounds good, but there are two problems.
First, you need a big pile of cash and nerves to be able to double the bet
every time. With a start bet of $5,
after a streak of 6 losses the bet would be $160!
Second, casinos know this system also of course and have always installed a
table limit. This eliminates the effectiveness of this system
Progressive Betting System 2 level.
I personally like this one, it's very easy and effective. This system
is based on the presumption that there are clusters of wins and losses.
The point is to bet high on when you keep winning and low when you are
losing. The basics are simple: pick beforehand
a minimum and a maximum bet, for example $5 and $15. Start with the minimum bet, when one wins, raise to the maximum bet and continue will one continue winning.
After a loss, lower your bet to the minimum.
This system can be effective when winning streaks occur often.
Progressive Betting System 5 level.
This system is based on the previous and is a
bit more complicated. As the name says, it is based on a five betting
levels, a 1,2,3,5,1 progression of your minumumbet. As soon as you win a
round you progress to the next level. For instance, if your base bet is $5
then your bets would be $5, $10, $15, $25 and then back to $5. There are a muliple of varieties with the
levels, another one for example is a 1,2,3,6,1 progression. Or you can be
creative and decide your own levels according to your experience.
